joint pain, anxiety and more.

My Wellness Journey

When I was in my early 20’s, I found myself in a rheumatologists office after several rounds of lab work and appointments with other specialists. The inconclusive diagnosis was lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. The doctor handed me a prescription for a medication that “may help” and sent me on my way.

I left that office with a sense of motivation and empowerment. I didn’t feel comfortable with the diagnosis or taking a medication that came with multiple side effects. I wanted deeper answers. Why did I feel  “sick” all the time? Why did I feel like I wanted to crawl out of my skin? Why did my joints hurt? Why were my fingers often swollen and painful? Why was I always tired? I was too young to feel this way. What was causing it?

Autoimmunity was a fairly new conversation in my world at the time, but that is exactly what I was experiencing.
My own body was attacking itself, and I was determined to get to the root of why. My research led me to a community of people who were using food, supplements, and other holistic methods of healing their bodies, and it was working.

Fast forward more than a decade later, my autoimmune disease has been reversed for years now and my wellness journey has led me down a path of helping others heal.
